Padel Popularity: Global Surge in First Half of 2025

Padel popularity continues to rise significantly worldwide, according to the latest figures released by the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department, highlighting substantial increases at both grassroots and elite competition levels in the first half of 2025.
Rising Padel Popularity Marks Record Growth Globally
During the first six months of the year, padel popularity was evident with a total of 132 tournaments held globally, representing an impressive 86% increase compared to the 71 tournaments conducted during the same period in 2024. This includes 12 Premier Padel events, 75 CUPRA FIP Tour tournaments, and notably, 45 FIP Promises tournaments—already surpassing the entire total of 41 for 2024.
The international spread of padel popularity is particularly noteworthy, with events occurring in 38 countries, significantly up from 21 countries in the previous year. Europe hosted the majority of tournaments (53%), but notable activity was also recorded in Asia (20.7%), South America (11.6%), Central and North America, and Africa (each at 6.1%), and Oceania (2.4%).
Reflecting rising padel popularity, the player base has similarly expanded, with 3,266 participants from 91 different countries competing in Premier Padel and CUPRA FIP Tour events. Among these competitors, 2,299 were men and 967 women, highlighting a diverse international presence dominated by players from Spain (28.7%), Argentina (7.1%), Italy (5.6%), and Portugal (4.5%).
The CUPRA FIP Tour alone attracted 3,155 participants from 91 countries, while Premier Padel events saw 583 participants from 29 nations. This growth in padel popularity reflects an increase of 35% in total participants compared to the first half of 2024.
Digital platforms also witnessed substantial engagement increases due to padel popularity. The official padelfip.com website attracted 1,850,000 unique users in the first half of 2025, up 19% from the previous year. Total website views surpassed 30 million, marking a 33% increase. Social media engagement surged as well, with followers growing by 23% overall. Instagram and LinkedIn notably recorded exceptional increases of 33.1% and 37%, respectively.
These figures underscore padel’s growing global popularity, driven by increasing participation, wider international reach, and heightened digital engagement.
